Luke's Local is an independently-owned grocery business that provides food from local family farms, butchers, ranchers, and food makers. Luke's sincerely sources great food made with integrity, and is passionate about making grocery shopping an inspiring experience for Bay Area communities. We operate a bustling brick and mortar market on Cole and Parnassus in the heart of Cole Valley, and have a second market opening in Cow Hollow in November of 2020! Luke’s offers a same-day grocery delivery and pick up service from both locations. You are enthusiastic about local food, willing to jump in to help other departments in the store, are a strong communicator, are excellent with customers, and have an attention to detail. You have food and retail experience (not a must) and can thoughtfully guide our customers through the many delicious options in our store. You are passionate about our mission and want to be a part of growing this business.
About the Job
As a member of the Butcher team of Luke’s Local you are responsible for setting and maintaining the butcher case, prepping cuts, providing excellent customer experience, communicating with staff and customers about our sourcing standards and ranch partners, and shutting down the butcher station at the end of the shift. We encourage a team mentality at Luke’s and as such deli members and butcher staff often assist each other based on the demands of the day. Having a positive attitude and team mentality is a must.
