Luke's sincerely sources great food made with integrity, and is passionate about making grocery shopping an inspiring experience for Bay Area communities. We operate a bustling brick and mortar market on Cole and Parnassus in the heart of Cole Valley, and have a second market opening in Cow Hollow in November of 2020! Luke’s offers a same-day grocery delivery and pick up service from both locations. About You
You are enthusiastic about local food, willing to jump in to help other departments in the store, are a strong communicator, are excellent with customers, and have an attention to detail. You have food and retail experience (not a must) and can thoughtfully guide our customers through the many delicious options in our store as well as the willingness to learn new skills pertaining to meat cutting and merchandising fresh meats. You are passionate about our mission and want to be a part of growing this business.
About the Job
As a member of the Deli/Butcher team of Luke’s Local you are responsible for preparing, packaging, weighing, and pricing meat department products for sale, providing excellent and knowledgeable customer experience, and offering suggestions and ideas of how to prepare and use the products. You must have the ability to work quickly, efficiently, and safely, including practicing safe food handling procedures, and assist in unloading and stocking merchandise for the Deli/Butcher team. We encourage a team mentality at Luke’s and as such deli members and butcher staff often assist each other based on the demands of the day. Having a positive attitude and team mentality is a must.
